How much does an LMS cost?

The price of a corporate LMS depends on the number of people, the modules contracted (learning only, or also performance, climate and analytics), implementation and integrations, content and the service level. That is why a list price is of little use for comparison: what you should compare is the total cost over several years with the same scope.

The most common pricing models are per registered user, per active user, by user tiers or an annual platform fee, plus implementation, integrations, content and services. The terms of each proposal (what counts as a user, what support includes, how the price changes if headcount grows) matter as much as the unit price.

Clikma builds its proposal around each company's scope: people, modules, integrations and services. To receive one, book a meeting with the sales team.

What makes up the price of an LMS

Almost every proposal combines these six components, even if it presents them under other names.

Price components of a learning platform
ComponentWhat it includesWhat it depends on
License or subscriptionUse of the platform and its updates. The pricing model and the number of people.
ModulesLearning, performance, climate, onboarding, analytics, artificial intelligence. The modules contracted.
ImplementationConfiguration, organizational structure, roles, branding, history upload and pilot run.The scope and the timelines.
IntegrationsHR system or ERP, single sign-on, API, SFTP.How many systems are connected, and how.
ContentIn-house courses, third-party catalogs or custom production.Whether the content is in-house, licensed or commissioned.
ServiceSupport, service level, delegated administration, consulting. The level of guidance needed.

Pricing models: when they make sense and what to watch for

No model is better in itself: it depends on how your headcount changes and how many people are trained each year.

LMS pricing models
ModelMakes sense whenWhat to watch for
Per registered userHeadcount is stable and almost everyone is trained. Not paying for accounts of people who have left.
Per active userUsage is seasonal or turnover is high. How “active” is defined and over what period it is measured.
By user tiersHeadcount grows in stages. The price jump when moving from one tier to the next.
Annual platform feeLarge organizations with broad usage.Limits on usage, storage or included modules.

Costs that are often overlooked

Many comparisons look only at the first-year license. These costs show up later.

  • A second platform for contractors or field staff

If the LMS cannot handle sign-in without email or external staff, you end up paying for another tool.

  • Spreadsheets for instructor-led and regulatory training

Keeping attendance, attendance records, SENCE or official certificates outside the system costs hours of work every month.

  • Custom integrations

Connecting the HR system or the identity provider may be charged separately.

  • Internal administration hours

Assigning, reminding and reporting by hand takes up the training team's time.

  • History migration

Loading past training and current certificates.

  • Per-use cost of artificial intelligence

Some platforms charge per query; the Clikma assistant has no per-query cost.

How to compare proposals

For a fair comparison, ask each vendor for a proposal with the same scope and these terms in writing.

  • The same scope for everyone

People, locations, countries, modules, integrations and services.

  • Total cost over three years

Licenses, implementation, integrations, content and service, with the expected growth in headcount.

  • What counts as a user

Registered, active or by tier, and how contractors are counted.

  • What the service includes

Guaranteed availability, response times and support hours.

  • What is available today

What is quoted should be in production, not on the roadmap.

  • How your data is handed over at the end

In what format and within what timeframe, so you are not locked into the platform.

How to justify the investment

The return on an LMS comes from three sources: less administrative work, better compliance and greater training impact on operations.

To estimate it, compare the hours the team currently spends assigning, reminding and reporting with the hours it would spend with automatic assignment and scheduled reports; the cost of regulatory non-compliance or of an inspection without evidence; and the effect of training on indicators such as accidents, sales or turnover.

In Chile, the SENCE tax incentive funds training activities that meet its requirements, not the license of a platform as such. A platform that runs incentive-funded courses well helps you make the most of it and back it up with evidence.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an LMS cost?

It depends on the number of people, the modules, implementation, integrations, content and the service level. To compare, ask for proposals with the same scope and compare the total cost over three years, not just the first-year license.

What pricing models do LMS platforms use?

The most common are per registered user, per active user, by user tiers or an annual platform fee, plus implementation, integrations, content and services.

What are the hidden costs of an LMS?

A second platform for contractors or field staff, spreadsheets for instructor-led and regulatory training, custom integrations, internal administration hours, history migration and, in some cases, a per-query cost for artificial intelligence.

How do I compare the prices of two LMS platforms?

With the same scope, the total cost over three years, the same definition of a user, written service commitments, only what is available today and the terms for handing over the data at the end.

How much does Clikma cost?

Clikma prepares a proposal based on each company's scope: people, modules, integrations and services. To receive it, book a meeting on the contact page.

Does the SENCE tax incentive pay for the training platform?

The SENCE tax incentive funds training activities that meet its requirements, not the license of a platform as such. A platform that runs incentive-funded courses well helps you make the most of it.

Is there a per-query cost for Clikma's AI assistant?

No. The assistant writes its answers with its own model hosted on Clikma's infrastructure, without third-party model APIs or a per-query cost.

Next steps: how to get started with Clikma

If you are evaluating a platform to train, assess and measure your people, this is the usual path.

  1. Book a meeting

On the contact page you pick a time on the calendar, or you can write to contact@clikma.com or message us on WhatsApp at +56 9 7960 1634, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00.

  2. See a demo with your use cases

We walk through the features you care about, with your processes and your numbers.

  3. Define the scope and implementation

With a project manager, the scope, timelines and roles are set; the HR system is connected, single sign-on is configured and the training history is loaded.

  4. Pilot run and ongoing support

Before opening it to the whole company, everything is checked and adjusted in a pilot run; after that, the Clikma team keeps supporting the operation.
