Industry challenges

Learning challenges in healthcare

The most common training challenges in Chilean clinics and healthcare centers, with the rule that makes them mandatory and how Clikma addresses them. "How Clikma addresses it" describes the platform, not what each client uses.

  • Induction for every new hire and replacement

Everyone who joins —including replacements and temporary staff— must know the patient safety rules of their facility and unit before seeing patients.

Regulation (Chile): General Accreditation Standard for Institutional Providers, Chilean Superintendency of Health: induction and unit orientation.

    How Clikma addresses it

Induction is assigned automatically by role, unit or site when the payroll is loaded. Stage-based onboarding brings together courses, documents to sign and a checklist, and managers see progress.

  • Mandatory clinical training across shifts

Prevention of healthcare-associated infections (HAI), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and waste handling must reach all direct-care staff, who work in shifts and cannot leave patients to go to a classroom.

Regulation (Chile): General Accreditation Standard, Chilean Superintendency of Health. Technical Standard 225 on HAI (Exempt Decree 60 of 2022). Healthcare waste regulation, Decree 6 of 2009.

    How Clikma addresses it

Mandatory paths with deadlines and e-learning that resumes where the person left off, to progress between shifts. Hands-on sessions with QR code attendance, on-the-job assessment with a checklist and certificates with validity periods that send reminders before they expire.

  • Professional credentials and certifications that expire

Physicians, professionals and technicians, permanent or temporary, must hold valid credentials and certified specialties, and HR needs to know who is up to date without checking folders by hand.

Regulation (Chile): General Accreditation Standard, Chilean Superintendency of Health. National Registry of Individual Healthcare Providers.

    How Clikma addresses it

A digital folder per person with degrees, certifications and licenses, their issuer and validity. Alerts and bulk renewals, and a qualification record that shows what each person is missing for their role.

  • Aggression from patients and companions

In emergency rooms and healthcare centers, teams are exposed to violence from users. Preventing it takes a protocol everyone knows and practice in handling conflict, not just signing a document.

Regulation (Chile): Law 21,643 (Karin Law), which includes violence from customers or users. Law 21,188 of 2019.

    How Clikma addresses it

With Tu Mentor, each person rehearses by voice, with an AI character, a conversation with an upset patient and gets feedback. The protocol is distributed with a signed read receipt.

  • Confidentiality of clinical information

Anyone who handles medical records, test results or member data handles sensitive data: a single person's mistake exposes the patient and the institution.

Regulation (Chile): Law 20,584, articles 12 and 13: medical records are confidential. Law 21,719 on personal data protection.

    How Clikma addresses it

Privacy courses with an assessment and a signed read receipt of the policy. The platform hosts data in Chile, with single sign-on, two-factor authentication and a procedure for the rights under Law 21,719.

  • Mandatory prevention course, with evidence

Every employer, regardless of industry or contract type, must provide an occupational risk prevention course of at least 8 hours and, from November 1, 2026, prove it with verifiable and traceable records.

Regulation (Chile): Law 16,744 and Decree (DS) 44 of 2023, article 16. Technical Guide of the Undersecretariat of Social Security (Exempt Resolution 1,117 of 2026).

    How Clikma addresses it

A single plan in person, by webinar or by e-learning. Each person's attendance, assessment, certificate, instructor, date and duration are recorded, and reports can be exported for an inspection.

What are the main training challenges in healthcare in Chile?

Inducting every new hire and replacement before they see patients; delivering mandatory clinical training (HAI, CPR and waste) to teams that work in shifts; keeping professionals' and technicians' credentials and certifications up to date; preventing aggression from patients and companions; protecting the confidentiality of clinical information; and proving the mandatory risk prevention course.
